This one is a little different from ma poems its wat i like to call a ranting.
Last night i had an epiphany so to speak. Earlier that day one of ma lecturers had been talking but the need to practice certain procedures such as FNA biopsy i had seen a couple and went like man if fxing an IV line was tuff how will i pull that off. Anyhoo i was making supper that night and as i was making the ugali(all kenyans will understand) i remember how as i was learnig i always made bad ugali too soft not ready or too hard but nowadays ma mum never complains so just an encouraging word to all ma pips out there strugglin to get by and get a handle if you are learning youll make some mistakes but giving up aint an option keep at it hey if you dont believe try ma ugali its awesome. So will be ma skills at FNA biopsy etc

REBORN
She sits alone in a dark cold room
Pondering ever so lightly
Wondering ever so quietly
Wishing for a better day
A gentle breeze wafts into the room
It is cool and reminds her of her heart
Dulled by the pain of loss
Numbed by the reality of loneliness
Shattered by the hammer of betrayal

Yearning for a change, she sits
And in the midst of the disparity
Deep in her misery and sorrow
She begins to dance
A strange yet soothing dance
Causing her spirit to soar with each step
Breathing new life into the corners of her once dead soul
At last the light returns
Like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon
SHE IS REBORN!!!!!!!

UNTITLED.........
Tears roll down her cheeks
Mixing with the dirt that covers her face
She stares nostalgically into the horizon
A small smile flashes across her face
Just as suddenly as it came it disappears
The teardrops and a blank expression replace it
She holds a razor in one hand
As she makes a fist with the other
Her veins are bulging as blood pulsates through them
Putting the razor against them she pauses
Relishing the moment, this the in-between time
Life at one end death at the other
The coldness of the blade soothes her
She flinches………
Blood slowly trickles out
Ever so slowly growing from a tiny drop
To a now gushing river
Staining her clothes and falling to the soil
It is growing dimmer, she can feel life ebbing away from her
Closing her eyes she sighs and falls asleep never to awaken
Morning comes and dawn finds a pale girl, asleep under a rose bush
The soil is soaked with blood and the roses have refused to bloom
They are mourning, weeping for the loss of their friend who is no more.

BEAUTIFUL STRANGER
Caught a glimpse of her
Standing alone at the bus stop
My bus had just stopped there
I silently prayed she would enter

God heard my prayer
Fingers crossed hoping she would sit next to me
Wasn’t so lucky but lady luck did offer me a boon
She sat across from me

As she entered our eyes locked for a millisecond
Which to me was a lifetime
I cast a couple of gazes at her
Alas she never looked up
Her head buried in a book
Both of us lost in our own worlds

The final stage she arose our eyes meet again
She smiled and just as mysteriously as she entered my life she left
Oh beautiful stranger I pray fate grants us a chance to meet once again

Blood Stained Sheets
I sit here alone wrapped in my sheets
My mind is a buzz with a flurry of emotions
Feels more like a train station
I can’t stand this yet nothing can I do
So I sit here on these blood stained sheets

I opened my soul last night
I laid every part of me bare
I was willing and eager to give all
And nothing less
Now all I have to show for it
Are these blood stained sheets

Fearing to rise up clean myself of this filth
Never thought things would turn out this way
I remember the mixture of pain and pleasure
The look in your eyes as you came in
The sound of triumph that came from your lips

What happened to the tender sweet words?
Sweet nothings you whispered in ma ear
All these a distant painful memory
Each time evoking a torrent of tears
All the while I ponder on these blood stained sheets

I gave up so much for you
The pain was great but I had to feign pleasure
The guilt was crippling but you said it was different
You said you loved me and would never leave me
But that was last night
When the sheets were crisp and oh so white

Tis morning and you are gone
You aren’t answering my calls
I saw you leave
Your face filled with disgust and triumph
You came you saw and finally you conquered
But at what cost

I am all alone on these blood stained sheets
I am no longer who I used to be
I can never go back
The pain is too much to bear
I reach over for my pen

Tracing lines slowly over my wrists
My ears clouded by tears
Ouch!! Peace, wonderful, blissful
No more blood stained sheets
Only blood soaked ones.

2 Minutes
2 minutes and the call came through
2 minutes and I had a talk wit you
Your voice so quiet telling of your sadness
So many things to say
Yet silence was all we had
And that is all we need
For in it are our words spoken
Our feelings expressed and fears relieved
Go now, my love
Though the path before you may seem unsure
Remember with each step you take
You are not alone and never will be
God is by your side and you are in my prayers
With this knowledge look ahead and face tomorrow
With the confidence that comes from this knowledge
Adieu my love

Untitled
She stares up at the sky
All she sees are grey clouds
She longs for a blue sky
Alas! Not a single ray of sunlight can she see
Hanging her head low, she accepts her fate

Longing for a happier time
Wishing for a brighter day
Reality tells her she’s dreaming
But her dreams are all she has left
Her night now filled with nightmares
Constantly haunting her filling her sleep
She fears closing her eyes for sleep she dreads

The turmoil that consumes her life goes unseen
It bubbles and churns underneath
On the surface she seems okay
Truth be told she’s anything but that

She gathers the strength to scream
A cry for help fills the sky
Shattering the silence that once was
The clouds part and sunshine returns
She relishes the moment
Drinking it all in like a cool drink on a summers day
This peace she knows and dreads will not last long.
